This novel tells the tale of Robinson Crusoe, who is the youngest son of a merchant of German origin. He was encouraged for law education by family but his interest was to go to sea instead. Later he embarks on a journey to London in a ship. Enroute he finds himself in Portugal before setting sail to brazil.
